To those that support it…what is the end goal? It feels like you all want a utopia in which there’s no crime and homelessness, but at what cost? Do you want constant surveillance and police presence everywhere? And how is any of this actually going to solve the root causes (it’s not)?

The argument is that the municipal government has been negligent in controlling crime. A 19 year old DGE employee was mugged and beaten outside a government building recently. An intern was also shot. Is this what we should be satisfied with in the literal capitol of our country? DC should be held to the highest standard
