Has anyone tried meds for ocd? If so what medication worked for you? I’m nervous to try medication but I might need it

SSRIs helped me a little. That’s probably what you will be given first. The med that finally helped me a lot after like 12 years of no improvement was mirtazapine, but it has really bad side effects and is off-label for OCD so it wouldn’t be given unless other meds weren’t helpful. I was also really nervous when I started medication. I was worried that either I wouldn’t be me more anymore and/or I would be in danger because I wasn’t doing the OCD things. It doesn’t work like that though, it 1/2

doesn’t magically change how you think or act. It just makes it a little easier to move on from the scary thoughts. You can dm me if you want too
