sensible reaction! pretty sure I’ve even seen its usage described as a slur against intersex people—partly because it was coined to refer to flora & fauna which organically have complete sets of reproductive organs associated with “both” sexes, whereas it was being applied to literally anyone who qualifies as intersex (and afaik humans are never born with All Of The Above, or if that does happen, it’s extremely rare)
