
I mean idk what you’re supposed to say to these people other than that “queer doesn’t mean gay”, and explain that it just means sex or gender identity groups that are or have historically been oppressed by society, which are now grouped together to be stronger and less vulnerable, not as an in-group/out-group situation. Same with people who argue that aro/ace isn’t queer. But often there’s no point to argue with any of them, they’ll refuse to change their view, so it’s a waste of time
idk about yall but i’m definitely on a list and would get sent to a camp at the barest minimum because of my history of politics even if i look “straight” with a partner. Takes like this are valid if you come at it from a cautionary exploratory stance, cause sure if you took them (trump admin) at their word this might be reality. but they’re dividing us on purpose and takes like this are perpetuating it. we’re stronger together and more people under the queer umbrella the better.
