I’ve been struggling a lot with dysphoria lately. Even if I get top surgery, most people will probably still call me a woman. I hate it. I hate my chest, I hate my voice, and I hate trying to navigate gendered society. What if I’m never happy? It’s not even that I expect people to know. I don’t. I just hope that I become androgynous enough that people call me a guy. It’s still not right but means I’m confusing enough. Closest I got was a few weeks ago when a kid asked if I was a boy or a girl while I was volunteering at Girl Scout camp. That felt nice.
I had a kid ask me while I was out on a run (didn’t answer because I was running LMAO) and the only times I get affirmed is if it’s my friends, but my friends don’t determine if I’m “androgynous passing” or not :/ a lot of the time, I wish I could overcorrect just bc I hate being called a guy
