How did y’all figure out you were non binary? I’ve been identifying as a trans man for like 7 years but I’m questioning if maybe I’m wrong.

For me, at first it was about just simply not liking gender norms. But then as I came further along, I started to think more as freedom, do be able to live my life happy. I can still live my life passing for the sex I was born as, but also not gaf if I want to try out more stuff on the other of the spectrum. Also most of the men I grew up around did not make me feel comfortable identifying with them.

I always felt confused by gender norms, like why have any guides on how you’re supposed to act or what you’re supposed to like? We’re all just people. I never understood the idea of performing gender because I’d rather simply enjoy what I like. My own joy, however that looks, is much more important than the approval of strangers, and I’ve always thought others should feel similarly

i hated feminine terms and got giddy when called they or he, but i am Not a man. i may be a boy but that is the furthest i'm willing to go. i cannot explain it beyond that

spinning around in my head going insane trying to put my finger on what it means to be a man or a woman and eventually coming to the conclusion that gender is an empty concept and there’s really no option but to be nonbinary

I came out as a trans guy to 1 person when I was 10 though at the time I used any pronouns. Then I lived my life as a trans guy from 7th grade-10th. Figured out I was gender fluid and now I’m perceived mostly as a woman which is fine with me. It’s a journey tbh

growing up i never felt “girly enough” while going through the canon event tomboy phase and i eventually stumbled upon demigirl and identified with that for a bit. after doing my research i realized “hmm genderfluid seems right” and settled with that for a good while before realizing i simply just want to be me. and nonbinary has felt right for about 3 years now

I have medical issues which cause memory problems, so I wrote down how I felt during different identities & presentations. helped a lot to sort my thoughts on what I was most comfortable with, though it was a big step to actually be willing to be uncomfortable for a bit
