Wild that the women’s hockey team gets gold and continues a long tradition of success but for the first time in 40 years the men finally get gold and what do they do? Laugh as the women are reduced to a burden and made the butt of jokes.

Mmm ya know what i actually get tired of? People like you who act like misogyny isn’t a big deal when it happens in a locker room between boys.

It’s never that deep to ppl who don’t have to deal with this shit.

Fun fact you saying that because misogyny and the promotion of it doesn’t bother you don’t mean it doesn’t fuck the rest of us over because men and women like you would rather just laugh and be passive about bigotry than dare stand up and rock the boat.

idk what to tell u. the world keeps spinning. u can pout all you want or work to be better. if you really want to rock the boat then do something more impactful than whining on the internet

You don’t have to tell me anything I just think it’s really sad that you’ve gotten to this point in life just thinking that basic empathy and compassion are cringe and worse than jokes that are rooted in bigotry. And also like genuinely do u actually think someone can’t both make a post on social media and have an entire life outside of it? Cause like that’s kind of fucking stupid ngl…

i just think it’s baffling how people are letting it effect them this much. when do we go back to talking about hockey and not this stupid shit? regular season starts back tomorrow and people are up in flames about a phone call. a week will go by and no one will even think about this. idk i think people should just live their lives instead of letting comments throw their whole life in disarray

It’s because when it comes to Olympic hockey the women have been the breadwinners not the men and yet instead of defending their fellow gold winners who have done way better than them they just laughed it off. You’re not fixing any sort of misogyny towards women in sports by just laughing it off, you may not have said anything bad but you had the chance to hold someone else accountable for being misogynistic and they didn’t they just sat on the fence and laughed. 1/2

It’s stupid to you because you’ve already established you don’t think that misogyny is that big of a deal I mean fuck you’re over here more concerned about a game than words that again cut women down despite their accomplishments. And for what? So you can be a nice girl who the boys will like instead of a nasty woman? Like I said I’m sorry for you that you think misogyny is fine if called a joke but empathy now that’s too fucking cringe for you.

i thought that winning a gold medal (multiple in the past few olympics) was enough to prove their worth but keep searching for that male validation 😁

The women’s basketball team has done very well as well how much respect does women’s basketball get from men again? Not that much. How much attention does women’s hockey get in comparison to men’s? Not that much. It’s not seeking male validation to say that women need allies who are men for misogyny to be cut down a peg or two. That’s just common sense. Nice try with your “I know you are but what am I” ass comment tho ;)

that’s bc women’s basketball is atrocious to watch, but still way better than men’s basketball. that’s the sport’s fault. clark was going to do amazing things for the sport and look how that went. this was women’s hockey’s moment to shine, especially with the pwhl now being a thing. but nope. it’s turned into a big ordeal for all the wrong reasons. now it’s all about how people like them more than men’s hockey than appreciating how insane their talent is.

i just hope everything goes back to the sports of it all. we also don’t know these people or the actual conversations they’ve had with each other. if the women’s team is really that offended then i hope they use it as fuel to keep shocking the world with their greatness

Clark was loved because she was pitted against Reese and the moment Clark dared rock the boat the same men that loved her told her she wasn’t worth all that much. Women’s hockey like pretty much most every women’s sport gets completely overshadowed by men when the men do well and instead of men hold other men accountable they just laugh. That doesn’t help anything. Just being polite and refusing to rock the boat doesn’t help anything. 1/2

And saying “the sports of it all” is such whitewashing bull shit when politics has always had a place in sports. All you’ve proven so far is you’re more concerned with how everyone else react than how men act. That’s enabling bull shit which is the reason why ppl are pissed at the men on the call who just laughed. And when ppl try and hold you accountable all ppl like you do is act like empathy so cringe and that misogyny isn’t that deep.

i’m waving the white flag. i enjoy watching hockey and watching players be amazing. i personally don’t think politics should be in any sport even though it clearly is always wiggled in. maybe im just upset there’s so much media bs infiltrating hockey right now. i’ll leave it to yall to discuss the injustice of it all.
