Not trying to play devil’s advocate or anything but generally the explanation is a regional sports network or something has exclusive rights to broadcast it in your area so ESPN+ isn’t allowed to

Yeah but I have Youtube TV and Monumental Sports is run by shitheads who keep it off Youtube TV so I can’t watch Caps games unless I pirate them

Yeah don’t get me wrong it absolutely sucks for consumers, but unfortunately it’s just the way it works rn because Monumental Sports has their own package that they want to cash in on and don’t want Youtube TV to be able to compete with them. I feel like to a large extent the push of people going to these pirating sites has a lot to do with this kind of thing playing out in a bunch of different markets
