noooo the nicknames thing was so stupid lol. just enjoy the sport and the culture of it! it’ll take time to understand the game and know the players but that’s ok! just appreciate the players for how they perform and not just for their looks

bro this sounds so misogynistic. if OP said “i’m a black male hockey fan…” would you be sure to warn them of not focusing on just the players looks. i know the term “boy aquarium” is going around and i think it’s wrong to say that because it’s a great game but OP literally said nothing about players looks, she’s talking about the game

well then she’ll be fine! i literally dmed her a powerpoint w basic info on the nhl. and let’s not act like a bunch of new fans (not all) (men and women) aren’t getting into hockey simply bc of the hot players. it’s fine they’ll fall in love with the game eventually. sorry if my comment came off as misogynistic, i didn’t mean it that way!
