Why is inside linebacker not considered a premium position? You see so many defenses across the league be terrible because they don’t have good ones.

Just like how Safety isn’t considered a premium either, teams think they can scheme around those positions if they have great/good guys in other positions

I mean that’s just not true at all lmao. ILBs are everything when it comes to run defense, especially without good DTs, which many teams also don’t have.

Being a Giants fan, I know what watching a bad run defense is like. Absolutely miserable. Sonny Styles is my pick if i’m Joe Schoen.

Safeties also matter a lot and having bad safeties means teams can take the top off of a defense. As a Steelers fan I’d know bc the difference of having Minkah and not having him is very noticeable. Teams just don’t value those positions bc they think they can get more production in edge rushers and CBs that are great/elite.
