Ty Simpson’s fine but Mendoza is the only guy who is a lock for the first + definitely deserves it

No there’s multiple but there’s really only one 1st round QB

I wonder what the mocks would look like if Simpson didn’t fall off a cliff after the first couple weeks

The NFL needs to step in and kill the transfer portal

Back in the good old days QBs sat in a system for 4 years learning that system executing that system but since the transfer portal they bounce around to 2-3 colleges never truly learn a system and are worse for it

They need to buck up and do something tho because I don’t think Mendoza is going to be that good and he’s the best option. Idk too much about CFB but besides the Ole miss guy and maybe Moore next years rough too

Back in the good old days, you wouldn’t have ever heard of Cam Ward or Fernando Mendoza so I can’t agree with you. The portal is why guys like that get to shine and show the league they are NFL prospects

Ole Miss guy, Chambliss, and Moore are both transfers as well

yeah but mendoza only transferred once so i think op’s point still stands. it shouldn’t be allowed more than twice imo

Yeah and I don’t think they’re going to be good NFL starters

100% you should be allow to transfer once so the burrows of the world can get a shot

Back in the good ole days we got burrow Herbert Lamar mannings

i think twice, solely from anecdotal evidence. my friend is a wide receiver at the college level and the first school he went to screwed him over so he went somewhere else, and that school ended up benching him for someone else so he had to leave again to save his career. i feel like that’s fair

Like Drake maye is the perfect example of this as a recent guy went to USC for 3 years learned the system came out nfl ready

UNC but i see what you mean, it was definitely beneficial for him to stay there. for some athletes it’s not

Honestly it’s not too important for positions like WR DB running back ect but the super high IQ positions like QB and linebacker I think it’s essential

you’re all good i figured it was a typo lol, didn’t want people thinking drake maye went to that bum school tho

They should either have the transfer portal or NIL

Both schools are kinda bum ass schools tbh

i think both are equally as important but i don’t think players should be allowed to just leave solely for money

i mean yeah but there’s a lot of colleges that aren’t awful that have never made the playoffs. the playoff system is rigged lowkey

I think schools should be spending money on better campus’s cheaper tuition research professors than 3 million on Bryce underwood

Y’all going to fast I can’t respond lol. But NIL needs to be roped in. It was meant for these mfers to be able to make money on social media or be in ads. They shouldn’t just be taking checks from alumni. But the transfer portal should absolutely be a thing. You’re judging it on the impact on the NFL but most of the kids you watch on Saturday will not be playing on Sundays

i see where you’re coming from but i do think college athletes deserve some form of payment for risking their quality of life for our entertainment. they bring a lot of money into their colleges so they absolutely deserve to be paid. definitely not more than nfl rookies tho

EXACTLY arch manning should be able to do whatever fucking commercial he wants but he should not be getting paid by the school

A lot of these state schools room and board plus a high quality education is easily 300k

some of these guys don’t ever make it to the nfl tho, some get career ending injuries that leave a lasting impact on their health long term. acl tears can cause permanent pain, as well as some other injuries but i won’t name them all lmao. they deserve to at least be paid for risking their bodies

They get free food housing and tuition they get to travel the country play in big games I would do anything to do that we don’t need to pay them to encourage them to play

Anonymous replying to -> OP 4w

they also are at risk for being in pain for the rest of their lives which affects their ability to work in the future. i know gronk isn’t the best example because he actually went to the nfl but im gonna use him here. he said after his career, even in the beginning after college, he was in so much pain that he was getting 2 hours of sleep a night. he was in constant pain and nothing helped him. the risk isn’t minimized just because it’s college football, there are still risks.

Idk it’s just hard because realistically they should get paid but I don’t like the idea of universities spending money out of their budget on the football team instead of academics because that is was makes this country so technologically advanced. I can concede that players probably should get paid but they really really really need to stop paying coaches so damn much

upvote 1 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> OP 4w

i can understand, i definitely think it shouldn’t come out of the academics budget but rather out of the budget they have allocated for football. especially with the power 4 conferences because they make good money off of football games usually.

It’s should come out of the TV and sponsorship deals that conferences and schools have. The players are the reason they make money. No players means no football means no money
