Rams trade multiple high picks for Raiders 1st overall pick Raiders build up O & draft Nuss middle rounds, explain in comments Jets sign K1 to a prove it deal (Glenn likes mobile QBs) will likely draft Sellers next year Could see Love going 8-10, or 12.Raiders don’t have the greatest situation for Mendoza. While Mendoza is the best QB prospect in this draft he’s not generational and the Raiders don’t have a good OL nor WR core + Geno’s contract takes up too much cap space. It’s smarter to build up the offense, take a mid round swing on a disappointing prospect (Nuss didn’t take the leap he was expected to take) this year and if Nuss is bad then you draft QB next year.
He was sat in games once they were winning by enough so yeah his stats weren’t stat padded that doesn’t mean he’s bad. Mendoza gives me a lot of Matt Ryan vibes. Yeah he’s avg all around but he’s insanely smart and a very hard worker. Mendoza is also a big game/moment riser. I could see McVay creating a dynasty with him and unlocking him fully. If not, then he’ll trade him for Burrow in 3-4 years & repeat the Goff for Stafford trade.
You’re not wrong, however the mass majority of college QBs don’t play under center and it’s why a lot of young QBs struggle when coming into the league and why there’s a plethora of young-youngish QBs who have to have gimmicky offenses similar to college offenses. The only QB who’s likely to declare that I can think of off the top of my head who has taken snaps under center a decent bit is Ty Simpson and he’s not a franchise QB.
