Is the super bowl considered a playoff game? (Context: someone in an NFC East Facebook group says “there’s a difference between postseason and playoffs”)

I thought it was common sense to know the Super Bowl was a playoff game, it’s the final playoff game. That’s why 1972 dolphins are 17-0 they won 14 regular season games, 3 playoff games; division, conference, Super Bowl. Who the hell said otherwise.

Whoever votes “no” is a moron.

I think what they mean is that the post season refers to the time period after the regular season ends where coach moves and other things can happen as well as when the playoffs occur.

A cowboys fan (in the nfc east group that I’m in) says otherwise, for some stupid reason. Apparently he’s been arguing it for the past 3 days, and everyone has been trying to tell him how wrong he is for the past 3 days (i just happened to see it today. It’s quite laughable)

Tbf he’s a cowboys fan I don’t think he can count, can’t hold that against him. But yeah he and anyone else who says no is wrong.

The playoffs occur during the post season but not all of the post season is playoff related

That is not at all what he meant, no. He specifically called the first two rounds the playoffs and then the conference championship game and the Super Bowl the postseason.

It makes sense that he wouldn’t know the concept as well seeing as how the cowboys haven’t even sniffed a superbowl in 30 years

How many superbowls does your poverty ass division have again? Like 3 right? Let me just do a little math. 5+4, that’s 9, 9+3, that’s 12, and finally the most recent 2 on that 12, makes about 14. Wow, 14 to 3. You know, you double that 14, you get 28. Now, where do I remember 28-3 from? It sounds familiar but I just can’t seem to rack my brain. Any chance you could give me a hand?

While he’s wrong about how the idiot cowboys fan is an “average NFC East fan” (seeing as how literally no other NFC East fan is stupid enough to think the Super Bowl isn’t part of the playoffs), what does the number of Super Bowl wins in our division have to do with that? He didn’t say “your division sucks”. If he did, THEN you’d have a point.

i merely said that nfc east fans are the worst of any division. given that the nfc east included both the cowboys and the eagles, i can't think of any even close.
