The joke is that the bears and bills have the same record not the patriots who have a better record. The entire point of the joke is to say hey we the same when the patriots have a better record it doesnt fit the joke

No the joke is that a team whose considered really good being matched with a team whose recently never never been really good but doing just as good; bill-patriots hits deeper because the bills been waiting for them to fall off just end up under them again. It’d be just as funny because the bills would very much be over the patriots being better again.
