Jalen Hurts throwing less than 30 passes in a game: 7-0 Jalen Hurts throwing 30 or more passes in a game: 1-5 He’s an elite QB though

Also, why do you immediately assume it’s the QBs skill with throwing, rather than what causes that number to be higher or lower. E.g: when the run game opens up, the offense can be more dynamic and unpredictable. Pass less. When the run game isn’t used (either due to good defense or incompetent play calling), it means more passes yeah, but a much more 1 dimensional, predictable, and exploitable offense

In games the past 4 years: 45-15

I don’t doubt Jalen Hurts can throw a football, my doubt is that when he actually has to live up to that contract he signed and he has to carry his team to a win it clearly shows he hasn’t been able to deliver. When he doesn’t have to carry the team everything is great. When he actually has to carry his team it’s a train wreck like last night

I mean yeah, there’s so many ways to look at it. Obviously my opinion is biased having the curse of being born in Philly, but I also think that gives me a bit more insight into how the team operates when we’re good vs when were straight up city sewage shit Like Jalen hurts had the worst game of his career last night. There’s no debate. AJ brown dropped the game winning touchdown that was perfectly thrown to him in his hands in ultra tight coverage. Then a few plays later hurts throws an int

Jalen sold so many times, but he wasn’t the only person who sold there. If brown caught that touchdown pass, what’s the narrative?

That the Eagles scraped against an injured QB with only one good hand while Hurts played horribly. There was no way that game ends last night where anyone should feel good about the Eagles performance

Oh no definitely not I agree, I’d feel just as shitty about it as I have literally all season.

But you wouldn’t be saying that hurts can’t win games even when he has his worst performance since college

“It clearly shows he hasn’t been able to deliver” I’m sorry did they not win a sb with saquon being held to like 2.3 yards a carry

To answer your point: Did his defense not hand him 14 points and basically held down Kansas City for majority of the game? Just because one piece didn’t deliver doesn’t mean he is the major reason they won And now actually going back to what I said, those stats are for this season, he hasn’t been able to deliver this season

Only 7 points were scored by the defense lmao

A pick in the redzone makes it easier to score yes but 9/10 times eagles settle for a field goal if that happened this season with Patullo

Somehow find a way to blame the oc when it has nothing to do with the conversation

I mean in 2022 we had a good OC and went to the Super Bowl. In 2023 we didn’t and we had an insane fall off. Then in 2024 we had a good OC again and won the Super Bowl. Then in 2025 we don’t again and… well. This. Is it that hurts isn’t an elite QB? That’s part of it. But he’s proven he doesn’t need to be that to win. Is part of it that Sirianni can’t run an offense himself? Yeah, definitely. Is part of it that our OC is absolute dogwater? Yeah, I think almost certainly.

And somehow you go straight back to the original point of this whole post. This wasn’t intended to say he was a bum, that he deserves to be lumped in with JJ McCarthy and other struggling QB’s. The whole point was that multiple Eagles fans have argued that he was elite. Which it seems you agree with me that he isn’t, strange isn’t it

I’m arguing that some people have him too low, and you’re saying people have him too high, they’re not mutually exclusive

Like bffr dawg based on the narratives in this community would you not expect hurts to be the absolute worst QB in the league? He’s a ceiling raiser, not a floor raiser. Like yeah you’re gonna have delusional eagles fans saying he’s elite still. From my experience that has left most peoples minds over the past 3 seasons, with a spike for the SB ofc like any wild speculation happens in the offseason
