if more people watch women’s sports, they would get paid more. the sad fact is people don’t want to and so without creating the kind of revenue men’s sports can, there will always be a pay gap. people like seeing sports at the highest level which is usually men because their bodies are just so fundamentally different and able to handle more physical strain so I doubt that gap will ever go away

and I say this as a woman. I see so many people that have this idea that female athletes are paid less because the companies behind are so evil and misogynistic but these people have no concept of where the money comes from. you make money, you get paid. money has to come from somewhere and I also think esp the wnba is so self sabotaging to the movement of lessening this gap it’s been embarrassing to watch many of them and say they represent women in sports

they had a real chance with Caitlin but the negativity within the league from petty women who feel threatened has just been immature enough to ruin the possibility of creating actual profit with her at the head of the league. genuinely makes me embarrassed to see what they say about her to feel better about themselves - people don’t want to support that
