Who is better and who has/had the worst situation? Poll format: (*player* is better, *player* has/had worst situation)I’m just saying I know for a fact that 5 weeks ago 90% would say Stroud was better. If TLaw is able to take his team on a real playoff run or continues to play like this into next season, I’ll have no problem making an adjustment. But I’m not going to let recency bias change my opinion
It’s not recency bias, TLaw has always been better, if the Jags weren’t such an incompetent team at the beginning of his career no one would’ve ever doubted him. Didn’t even need a great supporting cast in ‘22 to show off the generational talent he has, just needed a competent play caller and then Doug handed full play calling duties off to Taylor in ‘23 which is why he “played worse” when it was really awful play calling and not correctly using players. This is why they cleaned house.
If we’re basing it on talent then sure. Michael Vick was way more physically talented than Tom Brady. But there’s more to QB than physical abilities. Stroud is a much more consistently accurate qb who over the course of their careers has made better faster reads and limits turnovers
Stroud has had 1 good year when his situation was better and since the situation has crumbled so has he. Going off that year tho Stroud struggled creating out of structure and was not the most accurate down the field at times. TLaw is far more accurate now that he has a more reliable WR in Meyer (Jags have struggled with drops for years) and btw TLaw has like a 14/0 TD/TO ratio since like week 6 I think?
Oh yeah my bad since week 13 it’s been 1,082 yards (passing) 12 passing TDs, 0 INTs on 60% comp and 2 rushing TDs. Those are unreal numbers and btw a few digits higher in comp % doesn’t mean shit. It’s the degree of difficulty for the passes that matter + if the WRs are catching the ball etc. TLaw HAS been putting the ball on the money.
