Nix does not have a lot of potential, it’s his 2nd season and they’re still running a hybrid college style offense to mask his inability to run a pro level offense. That’s not what you want to see from an older prospect who’s supposed to have a high floor and be pro ready. On top of that 9 times out of 10 he holds the offense back. Just bc he makes a small handful of plays doesn’t mean he has high upside…the same thinking is why Fields got so many chances.
Fields never had a defense to carry him, nor an offense constructed like a college style offense, or multiple protector of the year candidates. Fields also at times showed up in big moments which was another reason why he got multiple chances. Want to know another QB that absolutely sucked at QB but was clutch when the game was close? Kenny Pickett. Wanna another QB that held back the offense but showed up in big moments? Tim Tebow. Nothing that Nix has done is impressive.
