Saints got blasted with the Minneapolis miracle and the no call in back to back years those mfs had it rough. Vikings did lose a playoff game to the giants post boat pic though

based on their highest win probabilities throughout the games, the saints losing to both the rams and vikings had a 1.7% chance of happening. by the same metric, for just super bowl 51, the falcons had a 0.10% chance of losing. add in that the saints have also won a super bowl and they clearly aren't the unluckiest team.

49ers: 3 Super Bowl appearances and 7 NFC Championships. No Super Bowl. Dre Greenlaw snapping achilles running into the field of SB 58. Brock Purdy tearing UCL on his 1st series of the 2022 NFC Championship. Jaquiski Tart (if thatโ€™s how you spell it), dropping an INT in the 2021 NFC Championship

Bills: only team in NFL history to win a playoff game in 6 straight seasons without appearing in at least 1 Super Bowl (all other team to do so won at least 2)

i can't find the win probability data for that game, but it doesn't seem that crazy from a statistical perspective and the saints were already down.

It seems crazy from a momentum standpoint

Bruh what football have u been watching? The Bills lost 4 straight Super Bowls and this decade have consistently made the playoffs only to fall short every single year. Like what? ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Not luck itโ€™s because of the power station next to the field. Also saints was still worse

Thatโ€™s just a skill issue at that point. They lost to the same team by their own fault most of the time.

It was second and 10 so 2 stops and the ball is the saints with plenty of time to win it

The 9ers have actually been unlucky, the Bills stat you mentioned is just them being 7 seed merchants

Thatโ€™s not unlucky. Thats a skill issue. They lost by their own fault or getting outplayed. Not because of some freak play.

Injuries are not luck. Certain players are more injury prone and playing next to a power station makes it soooo much worse

Imo the power station thing is probably bs, itโ€™s way more likely to be the way Shanahan does practice/training thatโ€™s increasing injury risk. The unluckiness is more about the timing though imo

If youโ€™re talking about all time, the 70s Vikings also lost 4 super bowls and they were better than the 90s Bills

let's say he just gets a first down, so the momentum only kind of swings, and the seahawks score on that drive. that's not crazy, and might make it harder for the saints to come back. nobody would call that unlucky.

Snapping your Achilles running onto the field of a Super Bowl is a โ€œskill issueโ€. Aight.
