Interesting that Jalen Carter’s extension seems to have capped out the dtackle market rather than reset it. Fully expected Williams to get paid at least close to as much as Carter was if not more

It’s because he’s 32

I’m not shocked. He’s better than Simmons and Williams ever were, are, and will be at a much younger age.

Guess we gotta wait for a dtackle represented by Nicole Lynn to get extended before the numbers start going crazy. She really managed to convince the Texans to give Will Anderson a whole 10 mil a year more than Myles Garrett got despite Anderson having half as many sacks

Oh absolutely. My thing is the last time a pass rusher got a crazy market breaking contract an overrated one that was worse than him came and demanded to be paid just as much and it led to Aidan Hutchinson and Micah parsons making 45 and 47 million dollars a year. Watch Jared verse fail to crack even 8 sacks again next year and still get qb money for some reason

Fair but teams are starting to realize that an elite DT is more important than edge. Carter, Simmons, Williams are paid for wrecking the run game and having interior pressure with sack numbers. Very different than even those edges.
