How the fuck is it their fault? They were hired after Stafford left 😭😭😭

They traded Stafford instead of building around him

You still haven’t explained how that is Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell’s fault. Also, Stafford wanted to be traded they didn’t willingly trade him.

What’s worse: being sorry and never being close to a championship, or blowing your only chance at ever making it to a Super Bowl while your all-time greatest QB wins 2 rings, an MVP, and retires as a Ram?

You’re still avoiding my question. How is it Dan Campbell in Brad Holmes’s fault that the Lions failed Stafford

upvote 1 downvote

Considering he’s played elite for 3 of his 5 years with LA and they willingly gave him up, it’s their fault for not maximizing the good QB play he could have had left for Detroit

Instead of trying to build a contending roster without a game changing QB

You are just talking to yourself at this point. Dan Campbell was hired after Stafford was gone. He did not have any part in the Jared Goff Stafford trade. Second of all Stafford demanded to be traded. You’re acting like the Lions willingly let him go. If there’s anybody to blame for the Lions failing Matthew Stafford blame the Ford family.

If Stafford and the Rams make it to 2 super bowls (and winning at least 1) while the lions will likely fail to make the playoffs in 4 of their 6 years since the trade (without even making it to a Super Bowl), idk how Campbell and Holmes can keep their jobs. If it isn’t Campbell’s fault for the Stafford trade, it damn sure is his fault they haven’t been to a Super Bowl

The lions also partially rebuilt their team off of the trade

That’s what I’m saying. Part of the reason the lions have been good. The past few years is because of that trade. If Stafford would’ve stayed, they most likely would not have been good.

Doesn’t mean much when they blew a 24-7 lead in the NFC Championship and got blown out by a rookie QB and a bunch of uncs the next year

Oh I see you were talking about the game last season, my bad. That definitely was his fault. But I feel like the primary reason the lions were eliminated this season was because of bad calls/coaching

And Matthew Stamford is tied with the most pick 6 in nfl history with Brett Favre. Does that mean he’s bad? No.

Yes, but what does that have to do with what you originally said? You are just making up arguments in your head that are completely besides the point of your original claim. Nobody is arguing about Stafford or Jared Goff besides you.

The fact is the 23-24 Lions with Stafford at bare minimum make it to a Super Bowl

Yeah, Dan Campbell has been probably the major reason besides those draft picks that the Lions have been good. But apparently somehow they deserve to be fired according to 1 due to a trade he had no involvement in

Part of the reason that team even made it to the NFC championship was because of players they drafted with those picks from the Matthew Stafford trade. If they retained Matthew Stafford, they probably would not have been in the playoffs that year.

Only by people like you dawg. That trade is the reason they’ve even been able to be championship contenders these past few years. They got a good qb in jared Goff and 3 draft picks in which they picked players that significantly impacted their team

And also, stafford was sick of continuous disappointment. His first year out, he wins a Super Bowl. He finally got the recognition he deserved and the lions got the roster they needed in order to rebuild

With those picks the lions drafted Josh Paschal (who basically never played), Brodric Martin (who got cut 2 years in), Ifeatu Melifonwu (who was okay, but perennially injured), Sam LaPorta (always injured), and Jameson Williams (talented but a head case)

I don’t know about that. I’d rather never go to the Super Bowl than watch my team lose at four in a row. At the end of the day, both teams are still ringless and one did not have to go through the agonizing pain of watching them lose four times in a row.

Also, the lions have had arguably the best rb and wr in nfl history, as well as one of the best QBs in nfl history, and couldn’t even sniff a Super Bowl. That is a ownership problem

I just don’t understand why they didn’t build around stafford and Calvin Johnson. They could’ve won a superbowl with those two and a decent defense

I mean, they definitely tried to. The problem is they were never really able to consistently draft good players and Stafford never really had a good offensive line during his time with the team.
