JJ McCarthy will be on Indeed in the next decade, so I’d assume him

It’s a toss up between him and Penix. Lefties always struggle a bit in the NFL for some reason.

Michael Penis at least has talent at things other than turning and giving the ball to someone else

Hes kind of a victim of circumstance there. If you take both of them and their situations into account, JJs offense was less talented up front and depth wise at WR. He just happens to have talented RBs he could lean on. Penix just has more options.

Both are tough kids though, they can take a hit and played through some tough injuries

I’m more of a college guy than an NFL guy so my comment is a reference to his time at Michigan (yes I understand Andrew Luck had the same situation at Stanford under Harbaugh) but I’ve seen nothing out of JJ in either league that justifies his draft pick yk?

Agreed on the injury comment though. Penix and JJ have been resilient throughout their careers (Penix especially). I at least think Penix has proof of concept from his time at Washington that shows he could be something.

Availability! At and an understanding of a basic prostyle defense. A draft pick is all about development. I’m not at a fan of him by any means but at Michigan, like you said, there was nothing special. But he knows prostyle ball. Minnesota doesn’t have some offensive machine. They planned on relying on defense from the jump. They don’t have the depth to be the greatest show on turf. It’s gonna take time but you have to first, protect him up front. Then, get him some help in the hands department.

Penix was damn near all about arm talent to begin with. Then he’s got a crazy room of pass catchers to help with that. Mooneys quick, London and Pittsburgh are huge and Bijan is a unicorn. JJ has back end Aaron Jones, declining Hock, and Jettas but he can’t do it all.
