Probably wrong about this, but it might be a situation like baseball pitchers where the level of competition is so high that they push the limits of human physiology to even play at this level. No big difference in college football injuries afaik, so it’s prob either that, bad training habits over a relatively smaller sample of 32 teams, or just random bad luck imo.
Actually leaning toward the latter two options (bad training or bad luck) now that I think about it bc (1) there’s historically high coach turnover in the NFL this year and a bunch of guys new to teams, and (2) increase is probably too much since last year to be from my first explanation alone (though it could somewhat tie into the bad training theory if they need to practice that hard to be competitive or something)
They’re one of the most popular teams in the league. Last year the injuries were on a lot of smaller market and less popular teams. The starting qb for the second to last season’s Super Bowl champion just had his season ended by DVT and a bilateral pulmonary embolism (hear attack level injury) while half his team is also hurt for various reasons. Plus the less disappointing New York team’s starting qb also had his season ended
