I guess the standards have dropped. There is no argument to be made that he should have been chosen over Stafford, Myles Garrett, JSN, or even Sam Darnold and Kenneth Walker. Atleast they one the SB and K9 won SBMVP. I am a fan of Caleb but it’s true.
Horrible take, led a great offense and made some great exciting plays that madden will love, took the bears to the playoffs and beat their main rival, broke their single season passing record, and is on the up as a player.

the argument to be made is that he’s one of the most marketable guys in the game rn, and is a youngfranchise qb. EA knew people would be mad, they know caleb gets people talking. every time you make a post about it you prove them right.

I just made the argument for why. Again there’s other options but they may have turned them down. Also Peyton hillis was a cover athlete, same with Vince young both of whom weren’t even close to the most deserving. It’s madden man they aren’t looking for the best player every year, they want exciting players and Caleb is very exciting. Plus Chicago is a big market and love him so they’ll buy it like crazy

I believe Peyton Hillis was fan voted. So that makes more sense. I understand where you are coming from, I guess I just always thought the cover should be more prestigious.

It’s madden, it hasn’t been that way in forever, plus there’s way way way worse options than Caleb Williams. I actually like him as a choice it just makes sense.

Chicago, is no longer the market. Idk if you have heard but the gare-bears are moving to Indiana

there’s definitely guys who are more accomplished and probably more deserving, but it’s a business decision not an accolade of merit. more online discourse = more attention to the game.

It’s still Chicago market… also it’s spelled Gary Indiana and that’s not even where they’re going… jets and giants are in new jersey it’s the same situation

I think that’s a part of it but I truly think it’s because of how exciting he is as a player, for example his crazy throws and close game wins.
