I swear eagles fans are so active on this app but none of them are commenting on this

As a Philly fan, the right answer here is “who knows?” – he’s in year 2 of his career, and there’s still a lot of time to really gauge who’ll be considered a better quarterback when history looks back upon this era of football.

Because we all know your team is great and your qb is genuinely buns

He is not buns name another “buns” quarterback in NFL history who consistently leads the team to double digit wins in multiple seasons and has a Super Bowl win. You could bring up Trent Dilfer but he hasn’t won consistently besides that one Super Bowl season

He is not buns but he is nothing more than a serviceable qb who can only do what is asked of him. Purdy is just a limited mobility Hurts and no one gives him credit because of his roster so you can’t have it both ways. And that type of QB doesn’t belong in top 5 conversations

Did Purdy win a superbowl? Answer my question

Bruh. Did the Eagles win a Super Bowl? Yes. Did the 49ers win a Super Bowl? No. Team sport last I checked

Joe Flacco won a Super Bowl. Is Joe Flacco a top 5 QB? Why wouldn’t he be? He has a ring

Joe Flacco didn’t lead his team to multiple double digit wins seasons 4 years in a row. You didn’t read the whole question. Yes it’s a team game but many quarterbacks can’t get it done in the playoffs consistently. Jalen can.

Is Hurts responsible for that? Or is it that you have the best GM in sports and his roster has been absolutely loaded his entire time there? You’re telling me that if one overtime possession has the opposite result in the Super Bowl then Purdy should be in top 5 conversations?

By the way, the Ravens did have multiple 10 win seasons in a row with Joe Flacco starting. He also won a ring. He’s been balling this year too. Where would you rank him

These stats are great no? Purdy is a good QB but how can you put him above Hurts. Right now Purdy is has to compete with Jones for the starting position so that makes the whole QB situation over there more questionable.

Joe Flacco has had 3 winning seasons in a row yes but the main deep playoff run he had with the Ravens was 2013 where they beat the 49ers in the Super Bowl. Jalen made 2 Super Bowls and won 1 and has the potential to make more deep playoff runs

Multiple linemen injured this year btw. Yes he has a great roster can’t deny that but we can only grade on what’s out there not if a certain QB gets a certain player they would be able to do this or win this

I was always a huge Carson Wentz fan and just can’t get on the same train with Jalen Hurts. He has never showed me anything from the QB position through the air that has wowed me. He’s serviceable and does what he’s asked to do and to me that does not warrant top 5 conversations. I would love to throw Wentz back there again and I would be willing to bet he’d be able to make a deep playoff run with that team rn

I do agree with you in certain aspects. I have plenty of things I would like Jalen Hurts to do better as an Eagles fan. Sometimes he runs when he should wait for the play to develop more, but he has the potential to develop more as a passer because he plays mistake free football and efficient football most of the time. Wentz had the chance to make a deep playoff run in 2020 but the injuries just made that tough. In 2019 and 2021 Wentz could’ve made something happen I feel like

So that’s the entire basis of my argument though, yes there’s room for him to take the next step but just because he won a Super Bowl that does not automatically put him near the top of the QBs. You can’t put him over someone like Allen or Burrow even though he has a ring and they don’t. I think it’s fair to say with the season Burrow has last year with no help that the Eagles would have gone undefeated on the season if Burrow was their QB instead

I’m not one who claims that Hurts is top 5 I think he is actually around 6 or 7. But to say he is far from being top 5 isn’t accurate either but I get your point he doesn’t have the yardage production that other QBs have

We don’t know for sure that Burrow would make them undefeated that’s all hypothetical. Jalen doesn’t have near the amount of pass attempts other QBs have. Is part of that his fault? Yes, but playcalling has a big factor in that as well
