I still can’t understand why the ball is spotted differently in that situation. Like apparently it’s the right call but it shouldn’t be

It was the right call the ball is placed where the ball carrier had the ball when hit unless he makes forward progress, say a tv is hit at the 45 and that hit sends him backwards 5 yards the ball would be placed at the 45, but say after the hit he is still up and runs 2 yards forwards, which places him at the 42, sometimes forward motion hurts sometimes it helps
