I’ve been making jokes about wanting Williams but yall have no idea how badly I actually wanted him. A 28 year old star 3-tech that can take pressure off of the mid DE’s that we keep signing. He’s not a bank breaker like it would be to trade for a guy like Maxx Crosby so there’s no fucking downside. AND, it’s fucking rare to see a franchise have this level of disregard for their star players. A single first fucking rounder is all it took? Are you fucking kidding me? This fucking team man

jerry also had another first to deal, a clear side of the ball to focus on, and a time constraint due to an older franchise qb (and he himself being in his twilight years) tbf

Don’t make excuses for poles. He’s had the easiest job in the nfl since he got hired. Rebuild a shitter franchise with a fanbase that’s desperate for anything good. He had no expectations and didn’t get any shit for hiring eberflus who actively set the franchise back a decade and stunted so many players careers. A slam dunk HC walks into his office and ASKS FOR THE JOB and then poles fucking hires him. Ben Johnson is the only 100% good thing he’s done and it was the biggest no brainer in history
