What are the thoughts on saying that while you don’t qualify for a diagnosis you have been told by a professional you have tendencies of a disorder? I’ve been told I have OCD tendencies (psychiatrist) and I definitely agree with them but idk

it just means that while you show a lot of similar symptoms/traits to it, you don’t meet the full diagnostic criteria of that particular disorder, but it can be very helpful to know which tendencies so you can work on them in therapy!

If you’re telling other people your diagnoses, I’d mention it like that. My partner doesn’t have OCD, but he has OCD tendencies. I don’t have EDS (I only have 4 hyper mobile joints and you need 5 to be diagnosed) but I have traits of EDS

It’s worth it to mention, especially if your office does re-screenings periodically they might want to tack it on
