definitely not too old! that’s about that average age really. i find in my town at least it’s 75% college students 18-23, 5% 16 year olds who are easy to avoid bc they always clump together, 15% 25-35, 5% 35+. your towns ratio might be a bit different, but there will definitely be plenty of fellow 22 year olds

My point is that you dont KNOW the person who made the comment. so you dont know if they were being condescending or if they were genuinely trying to help. Maybe talking to God helped them and they wanted to share it in case it helps someone else. Still think #4 was being very weird and rude😭

honestly depends on your town. mine has a couple groups that organize shows and they’re on instagram but it might be hard to just find those but maybe try searching “your town + punk/diy/music/production”, my town also has a community arts center that puts on shows so you could see if your town has something like that, also try just posting on your schools yikyak like “does ‘town’ have a music scene?”, and keep an eye out for posters bc just one show can be the in you need to start finding more

oh also see if your school has any related clubs! my school has one called ‘switchback records’ and a zine called ‘recordscratch’. even if you don’t join them, checking out their instagrams and stuff might point you in the right direction
