Me: “My ADHD makes it very difficult for me to do ________” Someone, without fail, every time: “I have ADHD and I have no problem doing that. Sounds like you’re just lazy” COULD YOU BE MORE UNSYMPATHETIC AND HYPOCRITICAL?!?!?!?!

honestly i be telling people “im glad that you don’t have to experience the struggle that i do” and it flips it on them to make you look good and humble and they look like a selfish prick 🙂‍↕️

"oh yeah? what do you struggle with then?" and if they say a single thing you're remotely good at you just flip it right back on them, then stop and say "now imagine if i was serious. wouldnt that be ridiculous?"

People love to talk about how every neurodivergent person’s experience is different right up until they have to acknowledge that a fellow neurodivergent person has indeed had a different experience than them

“I’m glad you’re able to do ____, but I’m not. I know there may be something you can’t or struggle to do that I don’t. Doesn’t invalidate either of our struggles. Either be empathetic or shut up about it.”

Seriously! I don't have trouble brushing my teeth (I used to as a kid but I got into a routine when I got braces and stuck with it) but I know a lot of people do! I personally struggle with showering and I get a lot of unsympathetic people due to it

I just tell people that I don’t want to. Or that I’m not going to. Or that I simply just do not have the time. I’m far too busy.

So true, I hate those people, it really feels like their only mission is to diminish a person’s self worth. This also shows a lack of cognitive empathy, and in my opinion also proving that the need to brag from insecurity is speaks loudly while confidence is quiet.

i am jealous of this girl ik who never medicates, ever, but goes to pharmacy (routine), for some reason, no problem.. she can like actually do tasks.. ofc there is no problem solving or critical thought or neuron flex work-out involved… but IF SHE can bring her attention to a singularity, and proceed, no meds… she is SO lucky. she’s more genetically chemically abled multiplied by tenfold like insanely different set of abilities compared to my natty-default skillset of dopamine drought. sad:(

To be honest, that’s usually something that people who self diagnose themselves with ADHD without actually even having it would say, most diagnosed individuals that aren’t just saying that shit for attention are sympathetic to the struggles you’d have dealing with it

this post is literally me telling my mom why i need my adhd meds and how i literally can’t even remember to brush my teeth without them then turning around to my therapist and telling him i don’t have adhd or actually need my meds. (i got diagnosed almost 20 years ago and have been on meds the entire time)

Tbh, remembering “omg you people can’t do anything” does activate spite to help override my demand avoidance, like when I’m looking at the dishwasher and spiraling because I can’t make myself unload it for absolutely no reason 🥲

To be honest I’m guilty of this. I think in my situation it was difficult to be fair when the person in question was being a terrible roommate to my best friend. Some things are clinical adhd, and some things are personality-based.
