This is so real and idk why it had a single downvote??? Like. I can admit the ways in which I have been both a bad roommate and have had bad roommates, but even when things went well, it’s exhausting to still need to mask around other people especially when your afraid of being an inconvenience or even just being perceived 24/7

i lived alone for a while and it was fantastic. it definitely did get lonely though, and i consider myself to be a very isolated and introverted person to begin with. so just make sure you’re supplementing that social interaction xx

Exactly! I’m not saying all my roommates have been absolutely terrible or that I’m the poster child for a perfect roommate, but I’ve always been scared of making normal noises throughout the day because even though I don’t EXPECT my roommate(s) to get mad, my brain thinks of it as an inconvenience to them. It’s not my roommates’ faults that I am scared to pee at night lol, just my brain thinking it has to keep masking.
