I’m being so serious and I realize this is extremely pathetic, but I’ve never dated and I don’t think I could task switch between being a student and being a socializer or girlfriend 💀 like, I can only focus on being a student and nothing else. Advice?
No same, I think about this a lot. I mean I’m also on the ace spectrum, but in moments where I wish I had somebody, it’s often followed by thinking I wouldn’t even know how to balance it anyway

Just prioritize what you want first. If you can’t handle being a student and being a partner then don’t. At least not yet. Until you feel like you can balance your own time and student life, just don’t try it yet.

You’ve gotta get out of the house more unfortunately. It’s kind of like associating areas of your house with homework and your bed for sleeping, you’ve gotta create a time, activity, or place you associate with socializing.

You just need a better work-life balance, have set times for being a student and set times for being social (I’m not allowed to touch schoolwork on Sundays or after 8pm)

At least you know what you’re capable of. And you’re not always going to be a student. Lock in on your education then you can focus on that other aspect of your life after. You have so much time :)

Btw what I meant by “feeling like you can balance your own time and student life” is an indicator that you might feel ready

It’s definitely hard. My first semester dating in college my grades CRASHED because I was focused on spending time with him. After I got a C I told him I needed to put school first and he could have any extra time I had.
