I’m AuDHD, but my friend has either bipolar disorder or schizophrenia and isn’t taking his medication or responding to texts and I want to support him, but I don’t really know how if I can’t talk with him. I keep reaching out, not in a pestering way

But like every couple of days like asking if he wants to go to the movies and stuff, but I feel like I could just be annoying him. I saw his mom recently so I know nothings bad bad but I still want to support him cuz I know it’s not great… I just do what to do

I appreciate both of y’all’s responses, but I’m so confused now😂😂😂 he’s had them before but we weren’t as close then so idk what he prefers

I have bipolar and I think if you’ve already reached out multiple times and he hasn’t taken you up on anything it’s a sign you should leave him alone for a bit. It’s probably not personal just sometimes when you are off your meds you’re very far removed from reality and you isolate yourself

i'm unsure what i have but when i have episodes, sometimes the trigger for getting me to stop isolating or being a danger to myself is my friends specifically 'making' me hang out. and if im not responding, i feel more like i CANT respond and that they don't want to hang out with me bc i didn't respond

for sure!! it's very very personal dependent, i just wanted to share how mine work cause sometimes people act like you should always just ignore someone who isn't responding, but there are people who need frequent connection
