If y'all really cared about the planet and the wellbeing of life on earth you would be campaigning against capitalism and American imperialism, not a semantically amorphous mathematical function that you can't even comprehend. AI is NOT responsible for the Holocene extinction. You should be upset about petrochemical production and the deteriorating state of the atlantic meridional overturning circulation. CORPORATE ai is merely a branch of a much bigger problem.

There's a huge difference between sora slop and drug discovery. This is not pedantic you need to be SPECIFIC when you're talking about AI. The least you could do is say corporate LLMs when you're talking about chatgpt. The specifics are so fucking important

If you wanna look at the statistics you'll realize that streaming video including short form social media uses WAYYYY more energy than LLMs. And if you wanna look at resource consumption, gasoline and red meat are much bigger problems than any datacenter. The capitalist overlords want you arguing a brick wall position they know you can't win so they aren't threatened by actual accountability. They need you scared and angry at scapegoats so they can keep doing their thing. Please wake up

Banning AI is an impossible goal. Regulating centralized corporate compute aka datacenters is a MUCH more realistic goal. We need to be strategic, not loose cannons.
