I realized this when I was making huge improvements in my social life, was at a point I once thought I could never be when it came to making friends, and still felt like an outsider. In reality, you’re in your own mind. Everybody is. Everybody believes they’re an outsider to an extent, and if they don’t they likely aren’t very self aware.
