It could be helpful at the start of services to tell your provider how you’d like to be interacted with. Whether that’s direct or lighthearted or casual or purely focused on the issue. Everyone is a unique individual and most providers are willing to adapt, but speaking as someone that went into that field, we are taught to approach things a certain way because we don’t know how people will react or what their mental capacity is. Letting them know what you’d like helps them adapt quicker to you
Have you communicated to your therapist that this type of language doesn’t help you??? There are so many different Types of therapy, assuming one kind fits everything is the problem. For example my therapist specializes in dbt, adhd diagnosis, and cbt. Thats probably what a lot of neurodivergent people struggle with.
I promise it’s worth it even if it takes some time it’s better to work work through getting help than not getting help at all. And communicate what your needs are if somebody’s babying you and you don’t like it tell them and if you need help with that, get someone you’re comfortable talking to tell them.
