some days i wake up and im still mad she diagnosed me with bpd instead of autism because i “could understand facial expressions” and “hyperfixatibg on trains doesn’t make you autistic, NTs can like trains too!”

the abundant misdiagnosis of bpd in autistic women is insane. im having a breakdown and shutting myself off because im overstimulated, not because you think any woman who doesn’t smile has a personality disorder

My friend was told in high school she was a diagnosed sociopath with schizophrenic tendencies. That caused a lot of problems with her dad, and also my mom who was then scared about me hanging out with her. Nope, didn’t have those things, just autistic. She got diagnosed like two years after graduating

and it does nothing but further contribute to misinformation about women who actually do have bpd, and the care and compassion they need in specifics. it’s just a total disservice to everyone
