Let’s say, hypothetically, that someone was POSSIBLY suspecting that they weren’t the only one in a body. How would they go about confirming or denying that?

Well a therapist would be a good idea!

definitely go see a dissociative specialist or a complex trauma clinic to pursue an evaluation/diagnosis! if you’re in the UK, the pottergate center is a great place to look

I would say that depends on whether you A) suspect you might have something diagnosable, dissociative identity disorder for example, or B) are more interested in exploring non-clinical models of plurality, i.e. modes of being more than one person occupying the same body which *don’t* necessarily meet diagnostic criteria (or which you think of more as an identity configuration rather than a disorder)

all i can say is that, dissociative disorder wise, keep in mind that therapists that aren’t specializing in them specifically tend to act a bit out of their element when it comes up, even if they specialize in trauma

regarding plurality, like aside from the symptoms of a complex dissociative disorder, there are online communities for people who identify as plural regardless of their diagnosis. but online communities for multiplicity, disordered or otherwise, are TOOXIC as hell. depends what your priority is. but know that you aren’t alone.
