why is there such a loud group of people who are anti recovery? like either they don’t want to get better or they do, but they don’t want any kind of help or to do any work. it’s so exhausting and negative. especially when they push it onto others.

someone will post like “i’m going to therapy yay :)” and the comments will be like “every therapist i’ve ever had was abusive, you should quit now because it won’t help you, you’ll never get better, all of your friends will hate you, therapy is brainwashing, why are you ashamed of your disorder you should be proud of it, you don’t have to take accountability for your actions if you’re disordered,” omfg SHUT UPPP

I think it’s because the only other option for them is to acknowledge that they have to put effort into finding what works for them. and they don’t want to, for whatever reason, and therefore the ‘blame’ is on them. so instead they decide that all of it is bad. which is fine i guess but i’d love to stop hearing them say it!!

like i get the frustration, being mentally ill sucks and you have to fix a problem you didn’t do anything to create or deserve, but i don’t want to hear a word from anyone who makes no effort to get better or makes themself worse just to bitch about how hard they have it. i’m tired of dealing w people who are like that. it’s exhausting and sucks the joy out of life to constantly have someone bitching and moaning about their life while doing nothing to help themself, or even self sabotaging
