Why are yall upvoting this??? They’re arguing autism isn’t a disability, and using the fact that we could !theoretically! get accommodations without it being classified as a disability (the provided evidence being a fictional movie) to make this point
we consider this accommodating, but in Zootopia they just do. They don’t question the different capabilities or sizes of the other animals. You guys can get accommodations without the negative stigma that occurs from a label. Look up labeling theory

Reading comprehension? How about some common sense? You can see the post they quoted, right? You can see the post that the quoted post quoted? This is all one person who has been quoting themself on here and trying to argue that autism is not a disorder/disability

Even if we’re talking about just the post I quoted, what do you think this means? Reading comprehension.

You’re denying that there’s a negative stigma associated with labeling, which is a literal fact. In our current society, it is a disability and would come with many disadvantages to not give it the designation. The post below on its own offers an alternative system that comes with its own cons, and it isn’t the best analogy for many disorders, but you miss the point entirely because you want so badly to believe OP has bad intentions. I literally referenced that post only.

When did I ever deny that there’s a negative stigma associated with labeling? Again, maybe you should take your own advice and practice that reading comprehension. I disagree. Even if we were not in this society, it would still disable the majority of autistic people. I do not believe the OP has bad intentions. That’s apparently what you’ve decided I believe, though. I believe they have good intentions, and at the same time, good intentions do not make them right, or any less harmful.

If you’re referring to my highlighted screenshot. The point of the highlight was to show the way that OP is using the negative stigma that comes with labeling to to say that society can just accommodate us without labels, in an attempt to further their point about autism not actually being a disability

You’re just being dense now.. the post’s entire argument is based on the fact that there’s a negative stigma associated with labeling and your choice to misinterpret that is implicit denial.

Are YOU being dense? That whole post is about not needing labels to have accommodations.

The negative stigma associated with labeling is what’s being used as reasoning to justify their stance that these labels are not necessary as long as we just work towards a better society. There is a negative stigma associated with labels AND getting rid of these labels is counterproductive and harmful.
