I know this isn’t exactly the group for this but I’m autistic about Jekyll and Hyde and have no one to scream about it to sooo,, I unironically think more Jekyll and Hyde adaptations need to not make Jekyll the protagonist.

While the original book’s plot doesn’t work well in many other mediums, I think there’s a reason we don’t follow Jekyll. The story is simply more interesting and has more potential if we see the consequences of Jekyll’s actions more than we do his inner turmoil. Also stop making Jekyll a tragic hero he is absolutely not one 😭

It also pisses me off how so many adaptations use violence against women as simply a way to show how evil Hyde is. One day I am going to write a story about Jekyll/Hyde as a metaphor for abusive relationships and it will be wonderful
