Autistic people are so dehumanized that a parent/caregiver can literally murder an autistic person and the murderer will get more empathy than the person who was killed

There was actually a story where a mom tried to kill her autistic daughter and their were comments defending the mom. I’m not joking.

“But think about how hard it was for them to care for someone with Autism??” I fucking hate Autism Moms.

As much as I think permanent caregivers are not given nearly enough support and deserve sympathy...this is def too far. It's hard to believe anyone would sympathize with a murderer. But I have seen some people do it before 💔

I know it’s terrible. We’re treated like burdens and demons. They can do anything to us and still get more pity/praise because they chose to have us and we’re upset about it. Oh poor you.

That innate human bias seems impossible to override, regardless of how much NTs try to display otherwise for social points

Someone posted a news article about the murder-suicide of an autistic child by their parent in a subreddit for parents of autistic children and a comment with like 5 upvotes said that they had had thoughts like that in the past and thought most people had… I don’t know what I’d do if I found out my mom or dad had considered killing me and/or themself because I have autism

i work with autistic children , we have rough days and hard times when working w/them and it can be rough . but that never constitutes killing them . i have clients that have tried gouging my eyes out , yet i would never harm them . it was most likely my fault for what triggered the client to want to gouge my eyes out . or choke me or whatever they decide to do that day . but it’s never valid to kill them over it . if we can find ways to deal with those behaviors and protect ourselves without

Those are trolls, not to defend their action but I don’t see that happening irl

hurting or killing them , anyone can . they just need to find the resources to help them . that’s why we have centers like the one i work at !! to keep that from happening and helping the parents and giving them resources while giving treatment to their children !!

it’s a loud minority definitely but there’s still people who believe this. sadly, some people still believe in eugenics
