Honestly this is kinda offensive because spinglus literally IS a sign of scrimblo ?? Like this post is just straight up invalidating to spinglus sufferers….

My best friend is one of the smartest people I know and she still says the family members footsteps thing is hypervigilance because she’s traumatized from it

The real sign of PTSD is when you can differentiate the sounds of your pets footsteps and brace for impact when it’s the fat ass evil cat coming to stand on your chest

It can be, but is not inherently, linked to trauma. Personally, I can identify my family's footsteps and always notice when someone is coming, but I have no trauma with my family that would explain that. I am just a vigilant and attentive person, I think because I don't like to be caught by surprise.

Tbf I’m diagnosed w ptsd and that one specifically is more complicated. It doesn’t matter that I can differentiate between my mom’s steps and my dad’s steps, what matters is that the sound of my dad’s steps makes me startle and hyperventilate

For me my abuser’s footsteps freaked me out at the time and still puts me on edge, but learning the sound of anyone’s footsteps is just a product of hearing their footsteps a lot
