The AAA vs AA battery usage in products will always vex me. Like why do we produce two separate batteries when you can use a AAA battery in a AA product if you really wanted to. They have the same voltage and amperage.

The only difference between AA and AAA batteries is their size. AAs have a little more capacity, but otherwise an AAA battery would work in a device that uses AA because they output the same voltage and amps.

ah so if the battery holder slots weren’t designed to be different sizes, either would work?

You can still use a AAA battery in a AA product. You just have to move it around a little to get it to work. The capacity is greater, but regardless they’re pretty much the same thing yknow?
