I just spent 300 dollars on a present for my mom... She's wanted a new mixer for the kitchen for almost 4 years now... I got it home without her knowing about it, but I feel awful cause I spent a LOT of money on it....

Why do you feel awful? You did something nice for your mom. You should feel good about that.

Trust, her joy will be worth every penny spent. I WISH I could buy my mom an amazing gift like that

As long as the purchase didn’t put you in a dire financial situation, then you are free to relax and get excited about her happiness over the gift. That is extremely thoughtful and I’m sure she will love it

If it did put you in a dire financial situation, there is no shame in returning it without her ever knowing and getting her a gift that is within your means. Seriously! She will never know and you will feel better giving her a gift without hurting yourself. You can always contribute some money and say it’s to help her buy a mixer if that’s really what you want her to get this year
