That’s literally not even legal. They cannot refuse to treat a person… I mean it took me a very long time to get multiple diagnoses such as AudHD that I was diagnosed late in life with so that of course took a long while, and I have H-EDS also and it was after the added diagnosis of autism so I think that people didn’t take me seriously. It’s a rare condition. For that condition I went to 17 specialists in less than 3 yrs and they were trying to tell me none of my illnesses were real….
I’ve been trying to get my HEDS officially diagnosed. Every doctor I’ve gone to see in the past like seven years has suggested I have it. But because but they won’t diagnose me. And all the rheumatologist I’ve called say I need to be diagnosed to see them. But I can’t get diagnosed unless I have the appointment.
That’s really messed up I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. This is maybe a silly question and if it’s annoying I apologize, but have you been able to get a referral to the rheum for another diagnosis? I had some luck getting my foot in the door for PCOS that was difficult to diagnose by getting appointments for other conditions and bringing it up to the doc in person.
They didn’t specify whether they were new patient or not yes taking in a new patient is a different matter and I stand by getting the proper referral which will allow for the other specialists to see you who may be denying you now. They will need the proper diagnosis to make a pcp treatment plan that works for your specific diagnosis, everyone’s different 🤷♀️
