One thing I do think is cool about having adhd is that when there’s an actual real immediate crisis. I just go calm and operate SUPER efficiently. Like in real genuine dangerous scenarios I’m actually pretty useful or at least it feels that way.

Like a couple examples: there was a school shooting threat at our school one time (turned out to be false) but I basically knew exactly what I needed to do and wasn’t paralyzed at all I was motivated to action. And I told my friends what the best move to be safe was (they didn’t fucking listen but that’s their fault) Then another time I was on a bike trip with my scout troop and I fell and scraped my hand pretty bad. Then I used the opportunity to teach the younger kids first aid on MY injury.

same. i’m a teacher and we (unfortunately) have active situations often that require me to lock the fuck in. and i do it with ease. i’m terrified of flying bugs but one time there was a hornet flying around my classroom and scaring the kids so i captured it with my bare hands and calmly walked it outside 🙂‍↕️

Showing them how to bandage it and stuff. It was cool as hell.

There’s probably other examples but those are the two I remember the best
