I really need to be more active, but I'm bad at holding myself accountable so I'm thinking of maybe joining some kind of class. anyone have recommendations of where the people are generally friendly and helpful? like would pilates be a good idea?

beginner courses of anything are usually very welcoming of all skill levels. i joined my campus beginner yoga group for a bit and it was a good start into exercise!

pilates are super customizable for skill and needs differences, but check the places near you. The place near me is very expensive unless you do a group session and you have to bring your own friends.

I'm also deeply out of shape and don't really know proper forms or how to do anything. so the idea of joining a class is very anxiety inducing lol but I think this is what I need to do in order to get into some kind of habit

thank you, that's really good to know!! I specifically brought up pilates because my mom offered to pay if I did it lol. I know we have some of the standard chains near me and also some local places, so I'll look into them!
