
Vikings raided religious temples because the monks and such present couldn’t fight and defend themselves and they were full of valuable artifacts. Going off of that, some churches to this day hold artifacts with human remains. They’re the remains of saints so touching one or touching an object to one is either a blessing on you or making the object holy. One skull has enough pieces to make up multiple skulls, but they don’t really care which is real, it’s the belief that it’s holy that matters
Oh also Vikings converted to christianity to make the nations they raided more accepting of them. I can’t remember whether it worked or not but I assume it did. And Vikings were the first to have both a sail and rows so they could travel both on the sea and up rivers. This made raiding easier as ppl didn’t except ships to be able to move up rivers so they thought they were safe
