the wisest people are the ones who *know* they aren’t the smartest in the room. plus, we’re all smart in different ways. on a biology field class, i felt so dumb bc the girl in my cabin was reading like an 5” thick textbook on lichens and fungi, but they all looked to me for bird identification. another classmate knew all the bugs and insects, while another knew everything about the wetland ecosystems we were in… honestly, it was like a fun little puzzle combining our knowledge together
I only mean, if you are the smartest person in a room you are in the wrong room. If you gotta be the smartest person in the room for your ego that’s unhealthy. Otherwise if you surround yourself with people who are smarter than you (even if you’re incredibly bright) than you have a shot at learning something from them! Otherwise you have nothing to learn and your talent for learning is wasted.
